Marq Wilson received her MFA in Creative Writing from Arizona State University in 2009. She received the Virginia G. Piper Writing Fellowship in 2008. Besides writing both poetry and fiction, Wilson also explores the complexity of identity in Modern American literature through scholarly research. She completed a Master of Arts degree in English literature at The Pennsylvania State University in May 2012. Her original interview, “‘A Push out of Chaos’: An Interview with Sapphire,” appeared in December 2012 in the MELUS literary journal. Wilson’s poetry has appeared in Toe Good Poetry as well as in The Missing Slate. She currently lives in Flower Mound, Texas, where she teaches First Year English at The University of Texas at Arlington.
