Barbara Mossberg is Poet in Residence for the City of Pacific Grove, California, and founder and host of KRXA 540AM’s “The Poetry Slow Down with Professor Barbara Mossberg,” a weekly hour radio show promoting language arts in civic culture (BarbaraMossberg.com). Dr. Mossberg is President Emerita Goddard College, and director and professor of Integrated Studies, California State University Monterey Bay, affiliate faculty for the Interdisciplinary Ph.D., Union Institute & University, and Visiting Scholar, Department of Biochemistry, UCLA.
Mossberg’s literary and cultural criticism includes her award-winning Emily Dickinson: When A Writer Is A Daughter. She blogs on poetry for Huffington Post and is restaurant reviewer for The Monterey Herald. Her poems have appeared since 1960, in newspapers from California to Finland, in books from University of New Mexico Press, Indiana University Press, Mandorla Press, RisingLeaf Impressions, to Tupelo Press’s erotic poems anthology, and journals from San Jose Studies, Indiana Writes, to Calapooya. A dramaturg and actor, Mossberg’s “Fat Lady Flying” poems have been performed in theater festivals, fundraisers, and leadership institutes.
