The editors read submissions of individual poems from January 1 to May 31 each year, and full manuscripts (in conjunction with the CPR Annual Book Award and Editors Prize) between September 1 and November 30 and again between April 1 and June 30 each calendar year. Journal Submission Guidelines
Cider Press Review publishes online issues four times per year–January, April, July, and October. Selections from the online issue are published in an annual print “Best of…” edition.
CPR considers only poetry or translations of poetry in English, and reviews of poetry books of approx. 500 words. CPR accepts simultaneous submissions so long as we are notified. CPR does not accept emailed submissions.
Submit up to 5 poems at a time during the open submission period (between January 1 and May 31). We strongly prefer writers to submit using our online submission manager. Postal mail submissions are also accepted. For mailed submissions: include short cover letter, short bio (50 words maximum), and an SASE required for reply.
Reviews are accepted year-round via our online submission manager under the genre “reviews.”
Poems are circulated to an editorial board. Responds in 1-6 months. Acquires first North American serial rights. Time between acceptance and publication is generally 3-12 months. For authors whose work is included in the “Best of…” print edition, CPR pays one contributor’s copy with discount on additional contributor copies.
