Carol Ratchenski

While Carol Kapaun Ratchenski’s day job is being a therapist, she is the owner and director of Center for Compassion and Creativity, a private counseling practice in Fargo. Carol has also been writing and publishing short stories, essays and poems for over 30 years. She is the author of the novel Mamababy, published in 2014 by Knuckledown Press and the poetry collection, A Beautiful Hell published in 2016 by New Rivers Press. Other work has appeared in Red Weather, North Dakota Quarterly, Gypsy Cab, Lake Region Review, Dust and Fire and NDSU, and in the anthologies Resurrecting Grace: Remembering Catholic Childhoods and The Cancer Poetry Project. She is currently working on a memoir in prose poems, Both Chairs: My Life in Therapy, and a new poetry collection The Missing Verse: Songs for Middle Aged Mid-Western Bisexuals, and a novel titled Room 314, Beds A and B.
