Michael Hettich is the author of more than fifteen full-length poetry collections and a dozen chapbooks. His three most recent books include Waking Up Alone (Redhawk Publications, 2026), which won the 2025 Lena M. Shull Book Award; A Sharper Silence (Terrapin Books, 2025); and The Halo of Bees: New and Selected Poems, 1990–2022 (Press 53, 2023), which won the 2024 Brockman-Campbell Book Award from the North Carolina Poetry Society.
