Sheet metal sun, tally of dead leaves, dogs, a rabbit darting
into a slot between wood pile n’ pickets. Little sister tile saw,
little brother furnace filter, father always in autumnal
dreams. Decaf, mom claims. Afterlife, promises and yet I’m
sleepless as car insurance, cryokids, dietary Hail Marys
and worries I jinxed it simply by watching the game.
