Intaglio
by Bruce Ducker

The pit presses informing evidence—
A map of dimensions, torso and all,
More than scored, the peach is revealed
Scarlet from the stone’s wall.
Take note of that coronal rose
Seeped into its swaddle through,
We discover by devouring it
All that the peach knew.
