Some Confusion
by Carmen Germain

may appear on the path to enlightenment—

don’t confuse amateur photography

with a self-portrait in cobalt blue. A little

unnerving is good, a trapeze act

with signature moves. But pay attention,

heart, balancing high on the wire.

You’re not without the occasional wobble.

Hold still as a shore between waves.
