In Between
by Andrea Rodriguez

In between like gray channels
Like a sober walk home
Like, I know my daddy but I don’t

In between like it don’t matter
I’m cool either way
Like, we talkin’ but we ain’t together

In between like exits
Like my vision
Like, cómo se dice…confusion

In between like territories
Like terms and agreements
Like, my people are from there but I’m not

In between like preconscious
Like daydreaming
Like, nah I’m good I’m just buzzing

In between like recovery
Like pending confirmation
Like, I’m off my period but I’m good on wearing white

I’m in between like—
