Moments of Solitude
Tethered to the Divine
preview by Catherine Campbell

Welcome to Volume 26, Issue 4 of Cider Press Review.

In this issue of Cider Press Review, quiet moments of solitude are tethered to the divine. In Jeff Mcrae’s “At The Cemetery,” the narrator advises on the best way to move through the space, and what the reader will find there: “There is little to see— / a few tears, names / and dates so small / you bow to read them.” In Theresa Gleason’s “Faith Healing,” the narrator “made a pilgrimage / to your city of toothed walls, / knelt to venerate / your twisted finger / in its glittering reliquary.” In Regina O’Melveny’s “A/wake,” vultures are the ones to which the narrator prays, “for their wild fortitude, / willingness to dip / into mystery, be fed.”

Additional to the poets highlighted above, Vol. 26, Issue 4 includes poems by Jennifer Bullis, Jennifer Schomburg Kanke, Sarah Carey, Amy Ash, Katharyn Howd Machan, Joanne M. Clarkson, Susan Grimm, Katelyn Garcia, Justin Hunt, Julieanne Larick, Stephanie DeGhett, Ariana Alvarado, Daniel Kuriakose, and Michael Garrigan. You’ll also find Faye Rapoport DesPres’s review of Alison Stone’s Informed.

Enjoy!
