CPR at SDSU Publishing Fair

Cider Press Review will be joining other Southern California literary publishers and host Poetry International for their annual Publishing Fair. The Publishing Fair will be held in Love Library on the campus of San Diego State University on Monday, March 19th, 2012 from 4-9 pm.

Fugue for Other Hands Wins 2011 Book Award

Joseph FasanoFugue for Other Hands by Joseph Fasano has won the 2011 Cider Press Book Award.

Judge Jeanne Marie Beaumont says about Fugue for Other Hands:

“to my mind this book embodies “further, deeper, wilder”…. It is never timid or tamed, has no easy comfort or uplift to offer but immerses us in the disturbances of living on this mortal earth from start to finish.”

Fugue for Other Hands will be released January, 2013 from Cider Press Review.

Joseph Fasano was born and raised in New York State’s Hudson River Valley. He earned a BA in philosophy from Harvard University in 2005 and an MFA from Columbia University in 2008. His poems have appeared in The Yale Review, The Times Literary Supplement, Tin House, FIELD, The Southern Review, and Boston Review, among other journals. His poem “Mahler in New York” won the 2008 RATTLE Poetry Prize, and he has been a finalist for the Missouri Review Editors’ Prize, the Times Literary Supplement Poetry Competition, the Kinereth Gensler Award from Alice James Books, and the Autumn House Press Poetry Prize. He has also been a semifinalist for the “Discovery”/Boston Review Poetry Contest and the Mid-American Review James Wright Poetry Award, as well as a Pushcart Prize nominee.

Joseph Fasano has taught at Columbia University and SUNY Purchase, and he currently teaches literature and writing at Manhattanville College.


NEW Editors’s Choice Book Award

CPR Editor's Prize Book Award Opens April 1

Cider Press Review is pleased to announce its inaugural Editor’s Choice book award, the Cider Press Review Editor’s Prize.

The annual Cider Press Review Editor’s Prize offers a $1,000 prize, publication, and 25 author’s copies of a book length collection of poetry. Author receives a standard publishing contract. Initial print run is not less than 1,000 copies. Cider Press accepts submissions for the Editor’s Prize between April 1 and June 30 annually.

The winner is selected by the editors of Cider Press Review.
