Crop Top / Ars Poetica
by Larry Colker

At first it attracts
by what it reveals
but leaves us thinking mostly
of what is concealed,

turns us over to imagination
like prison guards
escorting us to the boundary
of the possible—

if we want to
take another step
we must invent
a world to walk in.
