Reflection Arctic Pool_xAND

across the plains
by catherine grossman

of the palm of my hand
a watershed empties

into one river that breaks
into two

head and heart

a portage
can take years

sometimes you carry
a long time
that which later carries you

in the nursery a crib
without a name

instead
a sign reading
River Broken in Two
