Linda Pastan to Serve as Judge for 2015 CPR Book Award

It is our very great honor to be able to announce that poet and essayist Linda Pastan has agreed to serve as final manuscript judge for the 2015 Cider Press Review Book Award.

Linda PastanPastan has published 13 volumes of poetry, most recently Traveling Light. Two of these books have been finalists for the National Book Award, one for The Los Angeles Times Book Prize. Her 14th book, Insomnia, is due from Norton in the fall of 2015. Pastan was Poet Laureate of Maryland from 1991 to 1995. She has won numerous awards, including The Radcliffe Distinguished Alumni Award and The Maurice English Award. In 2003 she won the Ruth Lilly Poetry Prize for lifetime achievement.

The annual Cider Press Review Book Award offers a $1,500 prize, publication, and 25 author’s copies of a book length collection of poetry. Author receives a standard publishing contract. Initial print run is not less than 1,000 copies. Cider Press accepts submissions for the Book Award between September 1 and November 30 annually.

Fugue for Other Hands Nominated for Poets’ Prize

Linda Pastan, author of  author of over twelve books of poetry and essays, has nominated Joseph Fasano’s debut collection, Fugue for Other Hands for the Poets’ Prize.  The Poets’ Prize is awarded annually for the best book of verse published by a living American poet two years prior to the award year. The $3000 annual prize is donated by a committee of about 20 American poets, who each nominate two books and who also serve as judges.
