2010 CPR Book Award Winner

Liz Robbins of St. Augustine, Florida won the 2010 Cider Press Review Book Award for Play Button, selected by judge Patricia Smith. Runners-up included My Dear, Dear Stagger Grass by Susan Laughter Meyers, and
Permanent Collection by Stefanie Wortman.

Ms. Robbins receives an award of $1,500, and her book will be published by Cider Press in 2012.

The annual award is given for a poetry collection. The next deadline is November 30.

2010 Pushcart Prize Nominations

The editors are pleased to nominate the following works for the Pushcart Prize:

Colleen McKee — “Blue Like an Orange”

Susan Grimm — “You’ve Got to Excuse the April in Me”

Naoko Fujimoto — “June Ink”

Christine Hope Starr — “Regarding the Chocolate Beet Cake”

Adam Penna — “The Lessons Trees Can Teach”

Lindsay Bland — “Sea but Bare Yellow Sand”

All nominated poems appeared in Cider Press Review, Volume 11

2009 CPR Book Award Winner Selected

Second-Skin Rhinestone-Spangled Nude Soufflé Chiffon Gown, by Landon Godfrey  won the 2009 Cider Press Review Book Award, selected by final judge David St. John.  Runners-up included Entering the House of Awe by Susanna Childress, Ode to the Earth in Translation by George Looney, All Debts Recalled by Emily M. Green, and Violin by Joanne Diaz

The annual Cider Press Review Book Award offers a $1,500 prize (as of 2010), publication, and 25 author’s copies of a book length collection of poetry. Author receives a standard publishing contract. Initial print run is not less than 1,000 copies.
